Charles Kello III

Charles was born in 1942, during the war years, in the Seaport town of Norfolk, VA., rich in history, vibrant and crucial to WWII.
Charlie's father owned a sign and design shop, in Norfolk, where the boy was apprenticed at age nine.

Charley describes his father as an uncompromising craftsman.
“He simply didn’t accept failure he demanded perfection in every facet of Art including lettering and design. We had many subjects and media to work with and you painted what you were handed and you did it right”.
This training began to payoff and at age 14 young Charles won awards. Of note was two Best in Show at the Norfolk (now the Chrysler) Museum. And the local buzz about this young artist soon led to a New York Showing on Madison Avenue.
The 24 year old Kello’s Exhibit was a sellout.
Soon private collectors and museums from around the world were purchasing the Artwork of Charles Kello III. Vincent Price, the late actor, and the Chrysler Museum have Charles Kello in their collections.
Charles Kello’s Gallery and Studio is now located in the picturesque and historic section of Norfolk known as Ghent.
There Charles paints:- “What ever interests me” and educates dedicated artists from his remarkable legacy of 45 years in art and  full palette of techniques and subject.
